Breast Lift
Breast Lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is a procedure that surgically places the breast in a more youthful position on the chest.
Mastopexy is designed to enhance the appearance of the breast by placing it in a more elevated position on the chest. It tailors the breast by also removing any excess unwanted skin that contributes to the aged or sometimes deflated appearance.
Incisions are generally placed inconspicuously around the nipple and areola and under the breast. In most cases, a vertical incision from the nipple to the breast crease may be required.
A breast lift is performed under general anesthesia and is typically done in an outpatient setting.
Recovery time depends on the extent of your breast reduction. You can return to light activities within a day or two, and full activities within 3-4 weeks.
This surgical procedure is often combined with the placement of implants (Breast Augmentation) to not only lift but to also enhance the volume of the breast at the same time.
The affects of the procedure can be long-term, but weight loss/gain, future pregnancy, or natural aging may alter your results over time.
